      1 # The Stardis consortium

      3 The Stardis consortium is intended for engineers and researchers
      4 who are willing to be fully autonomous when using Stardis; this includes:
      5 
      6 - the possibility to integrate Stardis in their current heat transfer
      7   simulation toolchain.
      8 - the capacity to modify the code for specific purposes.
      9 - a detailled understanding of underlying algorithms.
     10 - a participation to development choices.
     11 
     12 The [free license](https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html) of the
     13 Stardis environment already grants its users the right to freely run the
     14 software, study its behavior, modify its source code or redistribute it.
     15 In addition, the consortium provides its members with *long-term training*,
     16 in direct contact with the Stardis
     17 [development team](http://www.demonstrator.edstar.cnrs.fr/prod/fr/#platform_researchers).
     18 Consortium members are also invited to take an active role in the
     19 scientific and technical management of the project.

     21 All consortium members sit at the *consortium committee*.
     22 This committee is gathered once a year, reviews achievements and the
     23 allocation of resources for the past year.
     24 Its function is also to debate orientation and development choices for
     25 the future.

     27 From an administrative point of view, the Stardis consortium is not a legal
     28 structure; it is a *service offer* proposed by
     29 [|Méso|Star>](mailto:contact@meso-star.com).
     30 Joining the consortium simply comes down to subscribing to this service
     31 offer.
