1 Below are some of the NetCDF files used to generate the cloud data 2 distributed with the Starter-Pack. 3 In the Starter-Pack, they have been converted to 4 [htcp](man/man5/htcp.5.html) format using the 5 [les2htcp](man/man1/les2htcp.1.html) tool, which was specially 6 developed to transform this data into the cloud file format required by 7 [htrdr-atmosphere](man/man1/htrdr-atmosphere.1.html). 8 9 - DZVAR.1.ARMCU.008.diaKCL.nc 10 [[xz](downloads/DZVAR.1.ARMCU.008.diaKCL.nc.xz)] 11 [[pgp](downloads/DZVAR.1.ARMCU.008.diaKCL.nc.xz.sig)] 12 13 These NetCDF files illustrate what a user's data might look like, 14 produced by a specific toolchain, saved in a community file format, and 15 finally converted by an intermediate tool (in this case les2htcp) 16 into the input file format for htrdr-atmosphere. 17 18 For example, the spatial unit of DZVAR clouds is the kilometer (this can 19 be verified using the NetCDF tool `ncdump`). 20 So, to convert its NetCDF file to htcp format, simply enter the 21 following [les2htcp](man/man1/les2htcp.1.html) command: 22 23 les2htcp -m 1000 \ 24 -i DZVAR.1.ARMCU.008.diaKCL.nc \ 25 -o DZVAR.1.ARMCU.008.diaKCL.htcp 26 27 These files serve to illustrate htrdr's agnosticism to external tool 28 chains through file formats in which the user transforms their input 29 data to run htrdr. 30 These formats define not only the input protocol for htrdr-atmosphere, 31 but also the *physics* it simulates: calculations are only possible if 32 the data describing this physics exists.
