     22 .Sh DESCRIPTION
     23 .Nm
     24 is a plain text file format for storing a list of refractive indices
     25 that vary spectrally.
     26 Each refractive index is defined by 3 double precision
     27 floating point numbers: the wavelength in nanometers at which the index is
     28 set, followed by the real part and the imaginary part of the refractive index
     29 itself.
     30 Note that the listed refractive indices should be sorted in ascending
     31 order relative to their wavelength.

     35 are considered comments and are therefore
     36 ignored.
     37 Empty lines, that is, lines without characters or consisting solely of
     38 spaces and tabs, are simply ignored.
